If you really like her I would go for it. Ask her if she wants to go out sometime just for dinner (just to get to know each other). If you guys hit it off, then maybe make it official. It's not really weird unless you have like a one night stand or something, at least in my perspective. If you don't hit it off; you can still be friends- that shouldn't be awkward if it's only after a few dates.
