Need advice about 'slight' Jaw misalignment pleaseee...?

My jaws are slightly out of line. I was told this vaguely several years ago. I'm 25 now %26amp; I'm feelin the discomfort of my jaws more %26amp; more, I worry that my teeth will push out %26amp; my gums will weaken with age. I was told that my gums are sensitive coz my lips don't close. Whenever I talk to a dental specialist I feel they always approach my queries aesthetically e.g. 'u look fine', 'it'll make u look slightly better but...' (maxillofacial), 'you're good lookin as u r!'鈥 dental professor. I'm not lookin for those shallow answers, I'm lookin 4 someone who will listen %26amp; understand that I have aches %26amp; pains due to my jaw structure, regardless of my teeth lookin straight. If I fall asleep in certain positions I wake up feelin like my teeth have fallen out. I literally had flies fly in2 my mouth in the past. My mum nags me about closin my mouth, but I find it hard to breathe if I do %26amp; reopen within a minute, but I do try. Can some1 advise me on how I can approach this?Need advice about 'slight' Jaw misalignment pleaseee...?
You have got to keep going to dentists, or maxillofacial specialists. That is not good. I have had TMJ for years, and it turned out, my jaw had more wear than a 60 yr old! There was actually a groove in my joint from it. I looked normal too, but my bones showed different. I went to a maxillofacial surgeon, and he sent me for a CT scan. Then we dicided to cut my jaw, and lower the joint. It was a long process, but absolutely worth it.

If I were you, I would either get your physician to get you a referal to a specialist, or talk to your dentist. Tell them that you don't care what you look like now, you are in pain and it needs to be fixed.

Hope you find the comfort you want. Feel free to email me if there is anything else I can help you with.Need advice about 'slight' Jaw misalignment pleaseee...?
My jaw was out of line before but i got braces and this sorted it out. My braces are still in and straightening my teeth but my jaw is straight and i can bite together properly now. Maybe you should consider getting them, age dosn't matter.
